XJ Cage Thread

Well we saw a BUNCH of TJ cages. Lets see some XJ Cages. Exo's, interiors, or both, doesn't matter I just need some ideas.

Here is my exo, there is some interior bracing that ties it into uni-frame.

So yours is an Exo/interior tied to the unibody?

I want to do a full exo tied to the front bumper, rear bumper, and rock rails. I want to do a modular (4x4 plates bolted together) so the cage can be removed if needed

Yea, its tied into the unibody. There is an X brace behind the front seats that ties the exo to my frame stiffeners, there is also some support at the hatch.

Doesn't look like it does a whole lot. What were you hoping out of it?

Love your bumper though.

My goal in making the exo was to prevent this from happening again. Some of the trails I have been on were really tight, and I hated having to worry about hitting the roof again. It wasn't ment to be a hardcore cage, that will come later.

It's a great start and can be added to easily to make a full exo

Gotcha'. I was just hoping that you weren't expecting it to protect you in a rollover. For some reason, XJs and spooky cages go hand in hand.
