No, nothing IS better than that. Buy a tow hitch and secure it with some grade 8 bolts. Use a 2" recover shackle adapter.

I wouldn't pull you out from a u bolt. Wouldn't even winch you. I'd leave you there.

I dont blame you, but I do feel its better than nothing. We used grade 8, 1.5in diameter washers on the back. At this point it isnt the safest thing, however if your barely stuck in the snow it will hold up if pulling in a straight line. If your pulling the jeep and you punch it then yeah, theres a good chance it could fail. Were going to take a 1/4" plate (4in tall, 2ft wide) and bolt the u bolt through it on the inside of the bumper to use as a brace. The u bolt wont fail, its the relatively thin bumper that will. Once it warms up were going to the junk yard to find hitches, but for now once we add the 1/4" plate this will have to do. Havnt needed to use it yet, its really a "last" case scenario.

Here is some more updates for my front bumper.

I got the winch plate welded onto it and gusseted for strength. And I gusseted the fog light plate on too.
