Has anyone found a better deal on led lights for this kind of setup?
I found some LED lighting I am planning to use in my version of this bar. I am getting them from a friend of mine who has an emergency lighting supply business. They are actually manufactured to use as takedown lights in a LEO or fire dept. light bar. Self enclosed and rated for exterior use. VERY bright and amperage draw should be next to nothing compared to halogen versions of course. I'll make a photo available once I pick them up if the OP doesn't mind. If nothing else, I'll post them up in my build thread (link in sig line). I'll have to see what his retail price is. I think I got the "friend" price. VERY good price on these lights!

Thanks FF315, please keep us posted. I'm just starting to source lights and emergency response vendors are where I'm starting my search.

I have a call into him to check his supply availability and retail price. Let me get that to you before you order elsewhere because he typically beats the normal retail price from the "big box" vendors like a red headed step child.

Here is a quick pic of the LED head I'm using. Planned on using 6, but I think my buddy, FirefighterJeep, has talked me into using 8. Going to build 2 bars at the same time. One for me and one for him. I'll start a thread on them when we get going this winter. I don't want to keep posting here and junking up Rinking's thread. Feel free to delete this if you like Rinking.

Of course! All I can say is..... I had a light bar on my TJ years ago and those were 130,000 CP each. These little LED steady burns smoke those every day of the week and twice on Sunday.

If you are asking me, won't start on it until after the holidays probably. I'll start a thread somewhere when I do.

I want it done too. I just won't have the time until after the holidays. I finally got my welding cart done two weeks ago, so that is another project off the list. That one only took me 3 years to get done.

I haven't forgotten your pm either. I made up some alligator clips the other day so I can hook one up and get you some pics. Need to find the memory card for my camera so I can get the pics. No clue where I've put it.
