The lights are mounted from the top with recessed allen head bolts! The holes in the bottem and back of the bar, are for two reasons! Shave weight, and so I could get the lights in, and wired. If a guy wanted bigger lights, you'd have to start with a bigger piece of tube! But if ya get much bigger, it might look like crap. I built this bar cause I wanted lights, but still needed to get into My garage. Thanks to everybody that likes it!

Do you have a picture at night with just the roof lights on?
The lights came in a kit from TOUGH STUFF. They are for they're hood light bar. Some times you have to think outside the box to be creative. I bought the lights first, then I built the bar around them. I switched it so they all come on at once! The clearance lights I hooked up to the running lights, but I also put a toggle swich on them so I can flip em off-on when I see one of My buddies! It will be kinda like the JEEP wave but in the dark!

I like the LED versions too, but would be concerned about the brightness. I just spoke with that company and they said the 2W output was the energy rating for the whole unit and not just each diode. Comparable to a 20W light bulb. The units used by Rinking are rated at 55W each if I remember correctly. The sales person even mentioned that she didn't know why they list them as "Extreme" bright driving lights because they weren't really that bright. GREAT sales technique! I respect the honesty however!

One of the most creative DIY projects I've seen in a long time!

Thanks for sharing! I might have to make a run to the steel store

Awesome light bar Any ill effects such as wind noise, etc. at highway speeds? Any glare off the hood from the lights?

How about a nighttime pic comparing them on and off?

Great concept, thanks.

Dude..I gotta tell ya..I really really love this light bar and I definetly will be building one like it in the near future. I love the Delta light bar but hate the cost. With your solution you get the best of both worlds. You did a great job on this and I think it looks awsome bro!! Kudos to you!!

Since then, it's been in My barn getting a new front bumper built for it! You guy's like My windshield lightbar, wait till ya see this bumper!!
