Willys hood and grill on a CJ

Anybody ever put a old Willys hood grill and fender on a CJ?

I (mostly) restored my scrambler a few years ago and I'm now working on a 4.0 head/FI swap. It never stops. I want to buy another for my son. He just turned 10 and will be getting his driver's license soon. So I only have 6 years to rebuild another CJ-8.

Anyway, I was wondering if anybody ever put a Willys hood, fenders and grill on a CJ? I really like the look of the formed hood and the nose of the grill. I'm talking about the grills that were on the Jeepsters and the truck pre-1950.

Has anybody seen that done? Anybody know a place where I can see measurements of the old Willys?

Hey, 1murderedjeep, that picture is of a little earlier model, but at some point, I think '49, Willys went with a "VJ" nose. It was v shaped and had 3 or 5 chrome bars going horizontal across the grill. I saw the pictures of the CJ-6 on face book. Looks like a lot of work, but the results are super cool. I think the front clip of a CJ-6 was identical to the CJ-5, CJ-7, and CJ-8. Is that right?

Did you ever complete the 'Willys grill on a CJ' project?
I designed an overlay for my TJ which has the 5 'V' chevrons from a 51 willys,
just waiting for paint and will be installing soon...
The willys grill measures 40 X 14 X 25, so a little bit of crunching to make it fit a YJ or TJ.....

In the Works

I have a custom shop melding the CJ hood and the VJ hood together. I think I can make the grill fit with just a few bracket changes.

It's a 5 year project thing so don't expect results any time soon. If you have pictures of yours, I'd like to see it.
