I made a little centering jig out of wood then clamped it to my drill press and every 4 inches drill down with a 1" hole saw

I don't have that so I was thinking of making poster board template and messure and cut my holes, then cut my emt down the middle of the hole.

It can be done with a hand drill and a hole saw just make a pilot hole all the way through your emt and make sure it is exactly strait then use your hole saw and drill again. It's just going to be a little tricky getting everything strait.

Mark a center line down the tube to use as reference to keep the notches lined up.
You can also notch with a grinder, bandsaw or even a sawzall.

Dooooooooo nooooooooot usssseeeee ggrillll paint that stuff sucks so bad. I used it cause it said high temp and it is and all but it turns white over time and it is dusty when you touch it and turns everything black. When it's time to paint mine I'm going to prime it with self etching primer then go at it with a few coats of the rusto premium protective enamel. It's good stuff and comes in a big can.

It was just a board with two strips of wood parallel to each other so u can wedge the emt inbetween them and clamp it so it won't move.
