Hey My plasma cutter is sitting on a stripped down shopping cart...it actually works out really good becouse the handle is high enough to hold the torch without wrapping tight.

You guys have shamed me into wanting to fab up a real welding cart now. That red tool cart mine is sitting on now works but it's too big and unwieldy (it doesn't maneuver well) plus I can't lift the side cover without tilting the welder over on its side. I got some great ideas from this thread, I'll come up with something and if it turns out pretty I'll post pics. But if it turns out like I expect it to, as in it just sucks, no pics.

I always thought mine turned out crappy so I hate to see what you consider "sucks"

here's my simple setup

got one of those universal generic carts from northern. the box was open and some of the pieces were scratched up. didn't bother me and i got a nice discount for it

i took some square tubing and some roundbar to make some extra arms with hooks to hang stuff from. and added a pull handle as well as chain hooks higher up so the tank won't tip over.

i may or may not add a shelf on top later. but that's why i made the arms so tall just in case. that way it won't keep me from opening the side door

I toyed with that idea originally but went my own route because of the driveway terrain I have to work with. Looks good man.

Just thought I would throw mine in here. Its only about half way done right now. I am picking up the wheels today and I still need to close in the back and then figure out how to make doors for the right side so I can access the inside of the welders to change wire out. I will finish it up in the next couple weeks after I get a couple other projects done

Don't close the back in completely. You have to have a good 10" of breathing room in the rear for the fan to circulate properly.

i dont plan on closing it in completley, I plan on leaving a whole about 6"x6" for the cord to go through and enough room to get good air flow through for the wleder. It all depends though I might just close up the right side and leave the back open since the tank will cover all of that anyways. We'll see how it goes.
