Waggy 44 Over the Knuckle

Hey guys, i've been searching and searching but I can't seem to find an exact answer to my question: Can a waggy 44 knuckle be reamed to accept Chevy 1 ton TRE's on top of the knuckle? I know there are inserts out there but I'm curious whether or not the can just be reamed, as I am going to be putting waggy 44's in my YJ in an SUA setup. No need for Hi-Steer, but I do want to get the steering up a little bit.
