The HF one is a pipe bender. Not a tubing bender. The dies will not be the right sizes as pipe and tubing are measured differently and the way the HF one works will only kink tubing. A good tubing bender is likely going to run you at least $300. Then you have to get dies and what not so it's definitely an investment.

On a side note, it works great for bending pipe.

I used the HF version to make rock sliders........came out great. It did leave a small dimple where the rollers were. After they were herculined, you couldn't tell.

I recall someone saying you can modify the pipe dies and get a good tubing bend out of them. It was posted here on JF somewhere.

I just bought a JD2 and it was affordable and the dies can be purchased separately at a reasonable price. It can be used manually, air hydraulics or electric hydraulic. Can be upgraded anytime also. The bender itself is only $300.00 Check into it............. money well spent if you do projects.

save up and do it right the first time. You will hear that all the time on here. I've used that ugly orange hack of a bender, yeah it will bend a tube, but what is the point? To look structurally sound or to be? That's the question! (getting all poetic on ya!!) .02
