Tools I Wish They Made...

I was wrenching under the Jeep the past couple days, very painful. I wish they made a thin skull cap type helmet, just 1/8" tough plastic with a zillion vent holes would work. Just enough to keep the pain away when I bump my head into shackles and other hard stuff while under there.

They do. You might be able to get away with just the insert to a bump cap. Otherwise you can wear one inside of a ballcap of your liking. Drill additional holes to your liking.

Or a cap like this

Figures. I'm apparently not the first guy to do a simple head bump on the job. I just ordered one hat-less type from Amazon Prime for $6, be here Mon. At $6, it's worth an experiment. Thanks guys.

My buddy about 20 years ago fiber glassed an old baseball cap. He layered several layers of fiber glass and filler mix for exact reason you posted about. Just wanted a bump cap while working on trucks. Everyone laughed at him but it did work great.
Plus he drilled holes to vent it.

That's a fantastic idea... I might steal that idea.
