TJ winch plate

Made a winch plate this weekend for a freind of mine that wanted one for his TJ. So this is what i ended up makeing for him. what i started with was 1/4 inch thick flat plate. Broke the plate where i have an 1.5 inch rise in the center to clear the sway bar. so it has 3 inch leg on one frame rail 1.5 inch leg up 28 inch across center then 1.5 down and 3 inch leg on the other frame rail. notched the plate around the mount for the sway bar and drilled holes. Used 3x1/4 flat bar for the fairlead and drilled hole. painted it and mounted it up and here is is.

Hey good job ! Particularly where you paid extra attention to detail and covered the swaybar , mass produced winch plate MFG's should follow your lead

Awesome job, very elegant, you should really look to market that idea. It might be opportunity knocking at your door, just dont do like everyone else and sell at high prices, keep the price lower than the competition and you should do really well. If I needed one that will definitely would be the one.

Looks good but

If its only 1/4" plate don't be surprised to see it bending under full load
or an angle pull where the line is touching the side rollers.
