I saw you mention concern about the vulnerability of your body mounts now that the boat sides are on...

Have you looked into SWAG Offroad's body mounts? I'm sure they'd be an easy project for you and they look indestructible compared to the factory mounts.

I was going to recreate those, but for what he charges i decided it wasnt worth my time to cut out my own. however, ive notice bc i made my step a little larger than normal (to accommodate my size 13 boots) it does a good job of keeping my body mounts away so i havnt spent the 150 bucks...

That is exactly what i was going to post about those bombproof body mounts. Get that crap outta the way. I would like them better without the cutouts though.

I've been looking at these for months. Finally broke down and bought some steel. I have one side done so far. I love the work you did on yours. Gonna have to wait till next paycheck to get some tubing for some steps. Thanks for posting all the info on these man!

umm, well, paid ~150 for the 4'x8'x3/16" plate, used maybe 1/3... then the tube was two scrap peices from the fenders... which were about $.75 per foot... so technically, less than 60 bucks...
