TJ Belly up

Heres my belly up mod....

So heres what I started out with,,,,"The shovel"

1" Engine lift

SYE

Broken bolts in frame

Cut them out!

Heres the fix,,Made up some inserts from 1/8" thick washers and 1/2" nuts to put in the frame.

Cut out a piece of 1/4" plate and a piece of channel for the trans mount.

New poly trans mount.

Before

After

People pay so much money for belly ups and skids and boom, here you go with a home brew one that is flatter than most aftermarket ones and this looks extremely simple to make. Props to you man, looks awesome. I wish it was this easy for us xj guys.

Ps, what suspension are you running? Looks like a possible 3 link front but in some pictures I see stock rear arms but also the joints and what looks to be rear long arms in others?

Does the poly trans mount transfer vibrations to the jeep? I had a motor mount lift with poly bushings and the damn jeep shook like a heroin addict while at a stop in gear (auto trans). I've since sold the motor mounts and put the stock ones back with a motor mount spacer. I'm just worried a short, poly trans mount will give me the same problem all over again.

No doubt the poly mount transfers more vibrations then stock mounts. With that said I noticed a little more vibration but not bad enough for me to want to go back to stock. I like how tight my drivetrain feels when im on the skinny pedal. I dont get any drivetrain twist anymore. The poly mounts are a must with how I did my belly up due to the fact my transmission and T-case are within 1/2" away from my floor. Most belly up systems you see still use a 1" t-case drop. I put my belly up flat to the frame rails. I needed to eliminate as much drivetrain twist as possible so the trans/t-case wouldnt come in contact with the floor.
