Tig torches

Gettin ready to buy a new tig torch for my place and started thinking once I saw some prices. I need a torch with a valve and a two part cable, and would definitely prefer a flex head as well. The weldcraft torch like this is about $130, while other similar "weldcraft style" torches are about half that. I've only used weldcraft torches on jobs and was wondering if these cheaper/knock off versions would fit the same collet/body and hold up as well as the weldcrafts. Would they be worth it??

when i tig i run scratch start off a miller maxstar 150. stinger hooks up to one part of the tig torch lead, gas goes to the other. thus the reason for the two piece cable and the valve (no remote)

Sounds like yours is the STL model (lift arc), it comes with a WP-17 torch. If your power cable and hose is not damaged, you can buy just the flex head torch body with the valve for about $79 + change. It's the Radnor brand at Airgas and the same as the Weldcraft, if you need the whole set up with cable & hose, it's about $114.

If you decide on one of those and need part numbers, let me know I can get the numbers for you. Although, you'll have to use your old Dinse connector for the power cable with the complete torch kit.

Nice, Did you get the WP-17 flex with the valve? You'll be very happy with it, smart move!
