Six two component epoxies tested and results

I don't know if this is the place to post this, but I thought that it was worth posting somewhere.

I watched a presentation on testing the strength of 6 popular two part epoxies. This machine shop bought 6 brands of epoxy. Then they sand blasted a steel piece of rectangular bar as well as 12 - 3/8 x 6 inch bolts. They used the epoxies to glue the bolt heads to the bar. Two bolts per brand of epoxy. After 24 hours they clamped the bar so that the bolts extended horizontally. They started with a 15 lb. weight and hung it on the end of the bolts. Gorilla epoxy failed at the 15 lbs. As they increased weight the others failed as well. The last on holding was the Locktite Metal. It held 27 lbs. for one minute. Here is how they rated
1/ Locktite metal (Best)
2/ Quicksteel
3/Devcon Fast Metal
4/ Locktite Instant
5/ JB Weld
6/ Gorilla (Worst)
Thought this might interest some of you. It sure did me.

Thanks Splinter
Very intresting but I wish they would have included 3M autobody adhesive. These epoxies are terrific.
