Seat Brackets / Adjusters
Hey all you fab guys. Need a set of brackets that will bolt to the stock chair bracket and then bolt to the slider but want to make the distance greater to the rear fo the jeep so the seat will move back farther. Any Ideas? Anybody doen this them selves or know where I can get the brackets? I don't think it would take much just some 1/4" steel and drill some holes for the stock bracket then holes for the new position of the adjusters...Any ideas or hints would be great...

I know for the XJ's they sell extenders. See them on ebay once in awhile.

I am pretty sure that they sell some extenders, but I will take a look at mine when I get home and see what I can come up with. Why do you want the seats back? I am 6'5" and I fit with the normal mounts. You just can't slouch.

It looks like some simple bar stock or angle iron could work. I would go with angle iron. You will just need to redrill the pattern where you want it and bolt it all together. Looks like an easy mod. Just watch the seatbelt. If you go to far back it won't work right.

Thanks dude. that's pretty much what I was thinking just wanted another opinion. My girlfriend is 6'3" and she likes to slouch and she won't travel in the jeep anywhere because it's not comfortable on long trips. So I figured if I set the seat back about three to four inches then she could be comfortable. Then when anybody else was riding I could just slide the seat up. I haven't really looked into it to hard yet but thursday I might look at it..

It does look really easy, I might do it with some scrap steel just to see. The passenger side is much worse on long legs than the driverside.
