Roll cage rust repair

Hey guys! I needed to do floorpans on my 97 wrangler, so I took it all apart and discovered the rollcage was rotted. The more I removed the more rust I found. Is there any safe way of repairing this? I dont do any serious wheeling with this Jeep, but its my daily driver. The first two are of the passenger side. The other two are from the driver side. Thanks guys!

Cut it back until you get into good metal and replace what you cut off. It is pretty straight forward. If you don't have the means to cut and fabricate, buy a used one. Check out Daveysjeeps and Craigslist.

Scrap it and spend $50 on one that isn't rusted.

This is what I'd do also.

Might even be able to scour a junkyard and pull one in excellent shape.

Im looking for them. Ive only found one, and its quite a ways away. I also checked scrap yards around my area and the only ones they have are roll overs.

The problem with fixing it is that after cutting it, adding slugs, new foot plates, and having somebody weld it for you, the cost is getting up to or exceeding what you could find another one for.

Ive got all the equipment to fix it. I was able to make boxes out of 2.5x2.5 square tubing matched to the size of the cage. I think this will work until I find a good cage to replace it with. Thanks guys.

Edit: One of my buddies wants to go to a you-pull-it yard. I might go and see if they have a cage.

Not sure if you're ever down this way (SE VA), but I think I have a bar in really good shape sitting on my office roof (inside the shop).

Free for the taking.
