Rock Slider Design and Material

First time making rock sliders and was wondering what size material is adequate? I'm still undecided on the exact design to go with. Looking for suggestions from those with experience using them. I actually liked some I seen made out of rectangle tubing for the main part with round tubing for the running board. Something like this.

The other way I'm considering making it is to do round tubing for the main part and smaller tube for the kicker or whatever its called. Thinking 1 3/4" x .120 and 1.5" x .120.

Kinda hard to see them in this pic but I really like these rock sliders.

Here's my wj for reference.
