I just checked and they are still available. I will be ordering one soon. Thanks, JD

YO EDDIE,
I got that super bumper primed painted and mounted with a round 3rd brake light installed in the center of the spare tire mount.
Everything went well with fit and finish and function.

Just in time for my business trip to Hawaii.

Thanks again

I was actually raised on the Big Island. Left the islands when I was 18 and only went back once for a family reunion. Now I'm a Virginian and do my 70hr work weeks in a dark shop.. covered in grinding dust and metal shavings..

I think I speak for all female members on this site when I say... they need to see pictures of you wearing nothing but a smock and covered in grinding dust and metal shavings. In fact, I'm seeing a calendar cover in your future!

Bserk is bringing sexy back!

I don't know about the last part, but I am all for pics of him covered in grinding dust and metal shavings. Now that my bumper is in the mail, we could use this as proof for why he needs to charge more for his amazing work.

EDIT: I missed the part about ONLY a smock, he should be covered in one of those white cleanroom suits covered in metal shavings and dust.

Well back on topic, I got my bumper today, man that thing is beastly. It is awesome that it shipped as just the bumper with a little packing wrap to cover the receiver.

The other nice thing about it is that there is NO surface rust at all. I thought I might have to scratch at it with a wire brush before priming it. BESRK, What do you do to the metal before shipping???

Tomorrow I am going to Six Flags, so I will paint it on sunday, and I will call my bodyshop on monday about getting it in. Does 2 coats of bare metal primer and 3-4 coats of rustoleum Hammered Paint sound good? I have 1x 12oz can of primer, and 2x 12oz cans of Hammered.

Glad to hear it arrived safely!

When I cut my bumpers to length, I have my son run a flap disk over the blanks and then wipe them down with Phosphoric Acid. That keeps most of the surface rust at bay for a couple weeks. At various stages thoughout the build, I also run a small "rolloc" sander over everything to knock off the welding spatter. Upon completion, I run over any rough areas with the rolloc, scrape hard to reach areas with a file, and then clean it up with a small stainless toothbrush.

This time of the year, the cooler weather helps keep us from sweating in the shop... so we're not brushing up against the steel with salty sweat. Summer time is a killer. Everything we touch rusts in a few minutes.

Sounds like a good plan of attach for the paint.
