Hmmmm.. I can still see the pics. Maybe Cardomain was down for awhile? At any rate, here are the pics of my current mounting system. I like it. Still use it. As for mounting the hinge spindle, that's pretty straightforward. Just make sure that you mount it so that it will clear your tailgate when opened. Nothing sucks worse than to finish a bumper, paint it, bolt it on and have the tailgate open right into the hinge tube.. chipping a nice black paint job. Ask me how I know.

Basic latch catch and angle iron to lock end of arm...

Latch mounted at an angle to pull arm forward and downward locking it into the angle iron. Make sure to mount latch high enough so it clears the bumper when you open and close it. Also be careful as the latch opens up a long way. It is possible to slam the latch into the bumper and bend it.

Yeah, Cardomain was down. I got an email about it today from them.
Thanks though...hope I can do the same with mine, though my bumper sits in closer to the body than yours does, but I'll make it work.

You have to buy it from me for $299

I get them from smallparts.com part #341-R.. they cost about $31 plus shipping. That is for the Zinc plated model.. you can get them in stainless too for about double the price.. here's the link....scroll down to the 2000lb model.

I checked that link.. it does have the Model 341 latch for about $22 but you really want the 341-R as it has the "Toggle Plus" locking system. It requires a separate trigger latch to be pulled before it can be opened up.. no chance of an accidental/unintentional opening..

Good point, I wish I had the safety latch on mine.

If you have the 341 latch, it should have the holes where the safety trigger goes. You could probably cut out some metal to make a latch trigger or.. just drill the latch for a small pin that goes thru the latch arm to keep it closed.

Nah, I have the 331 latch. I'm planning on installing a safety pin just haven't got a roundtuit. Wish I would have seen the "R" series first.

Was just looking at the first rear swingaway I made.. I've changed quite a bit of stuff since then..

Then..

Now.. (only had a trailer spare with the correct lug pattern).

I really like your design. I will be taking a lot of ideas from it when I build my own. Although I think I will be using some of DR. Hooks rear winch mount ideas also.

I am glad to see the bars on the side to protect the back side of your body. With my Unlimited I am really nervous about coming down on a pointy rock there and CRUNCH. Then its time for a wheel base strech and body cutting.

Any pics of a bumper with those side bars on a jeep?

If the bank only knew what I was doing to "their" Jeep as my dad puts it

Not yet.. that was really the first one I did.. at the customer's request. I've gotten spoiled wheeling in a buggy.. I forget sometimes that normal rigs have sheetmetal that doesn't fare too well when ground against the rocks..
Eventually, if I get enough of them out there, I'm sure someone will either post or email me pics of one of my bumpers with that stuff on it.. when that happens, I'll post pics here.

Will you be making any of these to sell soon? About how much would you charge for something like this if you can make one to sell?
