Rear bumper fab.

I'm deep into my 89 build, I am thinking about fabbing a rear bumper. I am thinking about doing a recessed license plate in the bumper to make the gas fill look cleaner and the recess will allow side lighting for state inspection, since this will make the center section wider I would also like to put a trailer hitch in it, plus move it back far enough and low enough so I do not have to remove the spare tire to use my trailer. I am a fare fabricator and I can not believe I'm the first who thought of these mods. Anyone have pics or thoughts? I googled and searched our forum and have not seen anything that would cover all my ideas. Any thoughts or suggestions. Thanks Stumper

I want to do something similar to you, but without recessing the license plate as far in as I think you're describing. Good idea though.

Basically? I'm wanting to use a piece of 3x4 or 4x5 piece of 3/16 square tubing and push the plate just barely deep enough to keep it from scraping on stuff, maybe an inch or so. While cutting where I'm recessing it, I wanna add gussets to the inside and try to paint some the inside too.
