Overhead console
I just thought I would throw up some pics of the overhead console I am building. I looked into buying a tuffy overhead console but it would not fit beetween the tubes on my PSC rollcage. I am much better at welding thick metal than thin stuff so it's not the greatest but I wanted it light. I also put a spot on it for switches (three for now-maybe more later since I will have room) and a cut out for the cb and it's speaker.
I made it out of sheet metal but it's actually pretty strong when complete ![]() The metal brake really came in handy ![]() Welded and ready for some grinding and plasma cutter time ![]() Sandblasted and ready for paint ![]() It's hard to see the opening for the cb but I will post some pics with it all installed and easier to see since it's upside down in these pics. ![]()

Not bad man, not bad. Are you going to weld it to the roll cage or just bolt it in place???

I'm going to bolt it to the roll cage with some tamperproof or just torx bolts. The thing I like about the console is you can't get the radio out without removing the entire console. Now I have to wait for my switches to ship but I can work on the wiring.

Man at first I wasn't that sure about the looks and design... BUT MAN THAT THING ROCKS!! I am still not sure I like the switches, they are like too far apart from each other IMO but anyway this is a personal opinion, the overhead console is amazing. Congratz!
