zachv i agree with what you are saying but you are assuming everyone lives in the same state they manufacture steel in. where i live you simply can not get round steel tubing at all. no one stocks it. period. you have to special order and have it shipped in bulk. at that point it most certainly isnt $4/ft. its more like $12 for me. now my situation is on the extreme end but this country is vast enough im sure there are people who have a similar situation.

no im not saying my stingers and stuff are built for show....if built right, pipe is just as strong as tube...you can surely use pipe to build a rollcage....especially if you are adding on to a stock rollbar...tons of people use pipe for cages and its just as strong if it is built correctly

but...while some people do use pipe for cages...definitely not 90% of people

Good example, but it is a funny assumption as I have NEVER had a delivery of domestic steel from Pennsylvania. Apparently, we are not the steel capital any more as I have always seen guys from California quote prices cheaper by 25%.

BTW, stop bragging about living in paradise. None of us have sympathy for jeepers in Hawaii.

Have a great day!!!

This is my AtoZ cage at the floor. I was able to tie the outter two bolts into my Shrockworks rocksliders and the medial two into the double layered floor.

I just got over 100 feet at $2/foot, but they were 12 foot sticks and considered "blemished". Regular price for their tube is $8/foot which they had in stock. Needless to say, I went with the blemished

There is a steel yard a few blocks from my shop, last order was 45 ft(two 22.5" sticks of 1.75 x .120" DOM), it ended up being $3.05/ft, not bad for a small order of US Steel(Plymouth tube Company).

Blah blah blah blah.

Apparently, we are not the steel capital any more as I have always seen guys from California quote prices cheaper by 25%.

i have some with korea printed on it. that might explain things...

BTW, stop bragging about living in paradise. None of us have sympathy for jeepers in Hawaii.

neither does anyone here. hawaii is one big eco-agri-enviro-anthro site.
