We have intentionally rolled trucks he has built just to test them out. He is a engineer by trade and everything was drawn up in CAD. Trust me, the homework was done on that cage. There is only 1-2 things at the most I would change on it, but like I said, we had to make it work around my 6' 310lb frame.

Here is a tough truck Grand Cherokee cage he did.

Bumper for 91-94 ranger/explorers

And the monster we in the club like to call "The Bulldozer" since it is unstoppable.

What is the cheapest tube bender that you can get now?

Has anyone ever painted their cage with a brush rather than spray paint? I'm wondering b/c I'm going to have to paint mine on the Jeep rather than taking it off to do it.

I figure if there are people that paint their cars like that, then you should be able to do it. The only thing is that it seems like it would be a lot of work. Well more work than just spraying it. Just my 2 cents.

lots and lots of paint tarps, some blue painters tape and you'll be fine with rattle cans. just do it outside on a calm day with no wind. mine started out great with no wind, then the wind kicked up to about 20mph and I ended up with a blanket monster for a jeep, and paint blowing south instead of on the jeep.

I picked up this bender from harbor freight a couple years ago to use it for my own exhaust on a project I had then. It just kinked the exhaust pipe... oops. But, it seems to bend thick-walled stuff pretty good. It was on sale then for around 60-70 bucks.

Eric from Freaky Tree offroad did mine. If you live near Annapolis, MD, I would be able to show you my cage. He does excellent work.

We finished my cage this weekend. I just had something simple in mind, but we go a little creative. I love the way it came out. I forgot to get pics of it painted black.
