What do you mean? He did ask for ideas on what others are doing. That's not talking out the side of the neck, that's called jumping in when someone ask for suggestions. Discussion is the right word.


I think the OP knows me well enough to know I'm trying to be helpful. It's not like I'm jumping on his back not even knowing who he is, he's followed my build thread quite a bit if I'm not mistaken. Not as many of us on the CJ section so we remember one another for the most part.

The reason why your discussion rubbed me the wrong way is that I am the co-owner of D&S Fab-Worx. I sat there with the OP for 3 days while he checked every bend in this cage to make sure it was just the way he wanted it. It rubbed me the wrong way because you didn't even bother to wait til it was done. If you were trying to save him from going down a wrong path I could understand that but you didn't even bother to ask him what was planned before telling him his design was crap.

I have no idea where you think this cage is going to go once it is all said and done.

So I upset you for. I did not mean to do that. I'm sorry it happened since that was not my intention. Our problem seems to be that you think I'm talking about his cage. I am not. The title was not about the cage but about the frame tie-ins and that is what I'm talking about in my critique. I could very well see the cage was almost done.

Remember this picture? This is where my issue is. Cage is fine. This C pillar tie-in is not. It looks great and is made great but as far as a triangular way of bracing something to save your life it's lacking, there are better ways.

I completely get what you are saying I wish the original post you made spelled exactly that out. He has an idea for what he is gonna do as a c piller tie in and I think the tie you showed is a very strong tie in and a good idea.

My apologies for the the miscommunication and my dickish response.

No harm done. You know this is a hard way to communicate, I need to remind myself of that. If we were all leaning on that Jeep hashing this out it'd never have happened. Keep up the nice work. This fab work is one of my favorite things to do.

We talked about them in the other thread but this is the first I've seen of this post. Those go all the way through the 3x4 slider tubing. They're also welded on the opposite side too.
