New rear winch bumper build

Heres a few pics of the progress so far on my new rear winch bumper. My swingout is also pretty much done, my hinge is supposed to be here today. The bumper is 1/4'' wall 2x4 tubing, and the winch plate is also 1/4''.

thanks. it's not quite finished yet, I've still got to add frame tie ins and crossmember tie ins, but it's close. I'll snap some pics tonight of the tire carrier and post em' up tomorrow.

looks good, i was wondering if you planned on adding some frame

winch being positioned as is.

the tire carrier is 1/4 wall round tubing, and it steps up in the center to go over the winch, and it also has a "stepped" bar going around the front of the winch. it's kinda hard to explain, but the pictures will show it much better lol.

I think it would look better on the front of my jeep I mean it would serve the same purpose except you're battery wouldn't be the one pulling my crap up the hill.

John

I want a CJ-6 with a hardtop.

Ratherbejeeping,
Do you have a BL on there? If so how much.
Do you feel it nessecary to have a BL to make a rear winch bumper? I know this probably depends on what winch/design of bumper, but in general is a BL needed?

I've got a JKS 1.25" body lift, but that's on there to get a flat skid- not for the winch. Even without it the tailgate would open

Ok, heres the finished pics. I still have to finish my frame tie-ins, but as long as I have em done and on the Jeep by the weekend I'll be ok.

the solenoid box for the winch is mounted inside the back of the jeep, I will snap a pic or two of that during lunch today.

Very Very Nice!
Does it rattle a lot? Is that a screw pin or just a pin for the latch?
Reason I'm asking is b/c it looks like it would shake a lot? (Broken glass not cool) Do you have another latch behind the tire to the tub/t-gate?
Looking to fab one myself and love your design. Yours is "ONE OF A KIND"
I'm not slamming your frick'n Awesome work just wondering.
Keep up the great work! Hell that really gets
