The little hook at the top of the stinger is for your winch cable when not in use.
Just playing devil's advocate here: the piece of tubing between the stinger and the brush guard isn't really doing anything: that thing would be better off dropping down to the base of the brush guard to get some triangulation on the stinger... As it is, if the stinger takes enough of a hit to fold up, that won't significantly keep it from doing so: and if it does fold, it's going to drive that brush guard into your grill. Visually, I'd say lose the "brush guard" and keep the stinger, then just shoot that "gusset" tube down to where the brush guard used to attach... MHO on that one, but I just think it look unnecessarily busy with both of 'em... The bumper itself looks great... I like the suggestion about extending out the fairlead holder to be a gusset..

That little bar between the brush guard and the stringer do a lot more than it seems. It gives triangulation which doubles the over all strength to you setup .
That looks good. Now seeing done will be cool too

A 89 yj with a 4.0 aw4 sye out of an 92xj. Now the hard part is done time to get it up in the air just a bit. Working on 8.8 with 3.73 and lsd for the rear. and new D30 hp with 3.73 .
For those who have not figured this out I'm old school but can handle the new too.
