Doh! Sorry I missed this post. I don't check this thread very often so if anyone wants to contact me, PM is your best bet.

We just did a scrap run a couple days ago.. turned in 2000lbs of clean scrap. That was mainly "skeletons" off the plasma table.. plate. We haven't really touched the small pieces.. probably have at least another 1000lbs of small stuff in the corner..

Visitors are always welcome at the shop. Gotta be careful though. Ask anyone who's talked with me and they'll probably tell you I won't shut up.. Usually, when a customer calls me on the phone, it's them who has to say, "Well.. I better let you go now.." I'm probably the typical "shop rat".. never see daylight and starved for human interaction. Sort of like a troll.. It's amazing I still have all my teeth.

Anyhow.. shop addy is:

607 Industrial Park Drive 23608
I'm in Unit I I (as in eye eye).
Usually have my little yellow/black forklift sitting out front, and on nice days.. my Lime Green CJ5.

Usually there 5pm-when I get tired (somewhere between 7pm-10pm) on weekdays and 9am-5pm on Saturday/Sunday/Holidays (to include Thanksgiving, Xmas and New Years).

If someone has some drops I would be interested too. I hate going to buy metal just to practice.

A flat rate box of random scrap metal would be awesome if anyone wants to help a newbie welder.

Thanks

For the most part, one corner had a little hole in it and a couple of the chain links fell out and they just had them sitting on top of the box on my door step haha. It held up pretty well for 40+ lbs of steel in a cardboard box though lol.

The four flat pieces on top which were cut off of a fender are galvanized. Make sure to read up on welding on galvanized and its risks and how to mitigate. Otherwise, the rest of it is mild steel. I can't wait to see what you make and post in your other thread.

Yea I'm going to leave the galvanized plates alone for a while, I've read the articles and I'll pass on that unless needed
