Metal Drops FreeWare Thread

The point of this thread is to post drops/cuts available for free for new welders or for those needing small cuts for art, etc. Please post what you have available, your zip, and then an update when someone has picked the items up.

So here goes.

Zip: 80863 - Woodland Park, CO
Parts: Misc small drops as shown below varying in shape and thickness. Sample shown below.

Good thread!!

Zip 23608.. Newport News, Virginia

I'll gladly give away quantities for practice welding or small projects but don't expect me to give away truckloads of free steel so you can sell it for scrap.. Honor system in effect here..

Usually have....

1.75"x.120" DOM in misc lengths up to about 8"-10"

2"x3"x 1/8" Rectangle Tube.. few pieces about 1-2ft long

2"x4"x3/16" Rectangle Tube.. few pieces about 6"-8" long

2"x2"x 1/8" Square Tube.. lots of scraps about 2"-4" long

Misc Flat Bar.. 3/16"x2"... 3/8"x3".. 1/2"x 3"... other drops.. 1"-6" long or so

Misc Plate.. 16ga, 14ga, 1/8", 3/16", 1/4", 3/8".. remnants of sheets cut on plasma table.. some pieces 1ft x 1ft or so..

All in all, I usually have a couple thousand pounds of scrap in the corner.. I'm a packrat and hate to throw it out (or turn it in for $5 per 100lbs ).

Update - I have someone coming this week to pick up my drops. So, this posting is now closed.

I will create another when I have a few buckets worth.

I come back to VA (Hampton Roads) quite a bit. Would it be cool to swing by your shop to chit chat / check out some of your work?

Would anyone want to ship me a box full of random stuff? To Pensacola? I have Paypal and will pay shipping + $10?

Just got a new Lincoln MIG and haven't really gotten to mess around with it too much.

James,

I have two builds this week and should have a USPS flat rate large box full of drops by week's end. Send my wife an email from our website and I will send you the box next weekend.

Dave.
