I decided to go with a 2x5 front bumper. I just built the front bumper straight instead of trying to build it to come up to the bottom of the fenders the over. I also built a mounting system for the winch cradle to mount to the front of the CJ5. This is what it looks like after paint but before I mount it on the CJ5.

Finished installing the front bumper and winch cradle mount this morning. Now to run battery cable to the front and rear with quick disconnects so the winch will work. Also I am going to get some roll bar tubing, then go over to a friends that has a mandrel bender and bend a piece of tubing to go under the winch where it hangs out over the bumper, so nothing will hit it. I might also bend a stinger for it. It all depends on if it will interfere with the tow bar I need to rebuild or replace. I still use it to haul my canoe to go canoeing.

A friend has his set up like you have, I like that it is very clean and should work well. Here is my front and rear set up.

I built my bumper around an 8274 warn winch so it sticks out a little further than i woulda liked but it hasn't hung me up yet. Here it is.

I didn't like any of the aftermarket grill guards available so I decided to make my own.
