Jk tube door build.

Today I'm starting to build some tube doors for my 2009 4 dr Jk.
This will be a pretty cheap build as I already have the steel. I will try and only spend money on hinges and latches. Any tips or suggestions will be much appreciated.

Here are some pics.
First I started off by removing the front doors because those are what I'm building first.

Next I cut each piece and tacked them together.

I tried to keep about 1 inch away from the body so I can't scratch it up.

Got both front doors done today. Took about 2.5 hours. Now I gotta figure out a latching system then I think I will sand blast and powder coat to make a real clean look.

I made my own doors too, I used an Eberhard latch from austinhardware.com. striker diameter will vary tho

you can also get a similar, more expensive latch from autoloc

Wow those look great. I just kinda through mine together in about 2.5 hrs. I will build new ones once I have access to a tube bender. Will prolly go with a spring latch for these and better latches for the new doors.
