Jeep WJ Spare Tire (Mount to Rear Door?)

Hey silly question, I see alot of people building huge things to carry spare tires on the backs of their WJ's.

I was wondering if anyone had reinforced the interior of the rear door and bolted a carrier to that? I understand you would need something to hold the hatch up once you opening as the weight would close as soon as you let go.

Just seems cleaner than the metal sticking out of the bumper or the hitch carriers I have seen.

What would you use? Big piece of Polyurethane (cutting board to bolt through to distribute the weight?

Or am i just insane????

Links to Ideas?

Thanks

its a cool idea, but it would be tough to make it work. you cold build a frame from angle steel on the back door and bolt everything to that, but your still going to lose as much or more vision in your rear view as you would with a spare carrier. that and the hatch would be a HEAVY S.O.B. to pick up.

look into building a swing out carrier into your stock rear bumper cover, theres a few threads on it and it always turns out looking really clean.
