Jeep OEM Side Step Install Problems

Noob here so please be patient!!
I just bought some mopar side steps for my 2010 jk, they are used and I went to install only to find I am missing a locking washer or something like that which will attach to the main bolts holding the steps on. the problem is the access in only a like 2 inch opening. Does anyone know about what I speak of? I would love to get these bad boys on today!!
