Yes, just like that. My only concern now would be, how far can that actually open.

Maybe make a angle cut away just to the right of the spindle so the swing out could come around another 45 or so degrees.

i just ordered my builders spindle kit today fro a to z fab..rusty wrangler is right about the angle also for it to open properlly..

my spindle kit was just under 100 bucks shipped..its worth it to get that part right(unless you have a old zero turn mower to cut it off the front)haha
if you just spend the 40 bucks or whatever and get the tubeing you want its much easyer to do it than think about it lol
i do that all the time but once you start it all goes together fine

good luck ..i will hopefully have mine done in a few weeks, time permitting.

im thinking of insetting it also..your drawing look great too..john

well after some thought, I decided to take away the radius and make it simple. I also added a notch so the arm can swing out more.

Make sure to leave a little "wiggle room" between your pivot tube and the bumper.. maybe something on the order of 1/4" or so.

If you want to keep that notch rounded, just take a flat of 3/16" and beat it into shape with a big hammer.. it helps relieve stress.

Plan it out correctly and you can probably cut your main rectangular tube, flip the cutout piece inside out, and make that your "inset" piece. Make sure to locate the "seam" inside the tube and position that on the backside so it doesn't show.

Thanks BESRK...I'll definitely keep all of that in mind.

As far as the spindle...I know that the AtoZ spindle is made for 5" tall bumpers. Obviously I do not have 5 inches for the bottom of the spindle. Would it affect the hinge at all if I cut off what hangs out and weld it like I normally would? In the current drawings I only have 2" of room but I am planning on making that 3" or 4" soon...I just do not have the time to make another drawing as I have a midterm in the morning and then I have to go to court after that (rather not get into that area).
