homemade sway bar

Kicking around the idea of making my own sway bar that goes through the tube in frame up front like the Currie. Anyone ever done this? I would bushings in the tube. Just kicking around the idea to alleviate the cost of the Currie and to allow room for the front bumper style i want to build and winch plate.

I have a well tooled machine shop at my disposal btw.

Any thoughts?

shouldn't be that difficult, go for it. getting the correct torsion bar for your liking would probably be the most difficult part, not the actual design or build I would guess.

Yes, my friend mrblaine has (mrblaine is his username).

He designed the Swaylock that others have copied.

Might hit up some of the circle track vendors for the torsion bar.. they sell different lengths/rates..etc. I was checking them out on Beherent's a couple years back.. seemed like an economical alternative..
