Texair - Yes I used a 1" MML. The only drawings I used were the ones scotch740 posted. To get the shape of the new skid I sat the factoy skid on it and traced it onto the 1/4" plate. We did a test fitting and saw that the skid was on the transmission pan, so we pulled it out and notched the skid. I beveled the holes with a 5/8" drill bit and test fit each bolt until I was happy with the fit.

Cool!!!!!! That´s exectly what im looking for...!!!

How much BL do you have?
Do you know if this would work with the 4spd auto tranny? It has a real deep oil pan.

I made mine to work with the 42RLE. It has performed flawlessly at the local club grounds and Moab.

It only has to be lower in the middle. Were 1" spacers part of your design? How low does this skid make the center compared to the old one? Seems to me would have been better to build in a normal curve to the new plate to eliminate the need for spacers. Spacers always seem tacky to me, a temp fix.

I like your skid. Any reason why you didn't put the 5/16" on the top side leaving the bottom completely flat? That was the thought I had when thinking of how to counter-sink the bolts.

what is the stock length, thread count and bolt size for the t-case skid? I need to buy some grade 8s that are 1" longer.

I'm making a t-case drop just in case I get vibes when I install my 2.5" OME (already have a TT, so driveshaft will see ~4.5-5" lift). I can't pull a t-case bolt out at the moment tho.

Brace the top with angle iron like the last one posted. I had a 1/4 plate with no angle and it bowed right away. Went to a 3/8 plate with angle across the top and still bent it but it took landing a 5' wheelstand on a concrete pipe to do it. That plate is in my friend's Jeep now.

I gave up on using a plate and now build a simple substructure out of .120 dom tube and skin it with aluminum/uhmw. It ends up weighing a little less, easy to fab and service and is a lot stronger. It's easy to tie to the motor mounts too.

PM sent, would like to see a writeup or at least a picture or 10 on this approach.

This is cool, prolly gonna do it. Maybe I won't need an SYE. I have 5 " of lift with no SYE now with minimal vib's and stock wheel base. My thinking on not needing a SYE is that I am stretching my wheel base 15" to the rear. Thoughts?
