Home made BB
Here are some pics of my BB I made...
Rear: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v234/tjchad/DSC00541.jpg Front: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v234/tjchad/DSC00454.jpg I used 3/16- 1/4" thick pipe and a 3/16" thick 2" washer welded to the pipe. I had to widen the hole slightly for the front spacer to fit over the tube that the spring fits around. The rear were the same design as the fronts but I decided I wanted a better way of keeping the spring seated so I welded on a 2" O.D. 3/16" thick pipe about 2" long for the spring to fit around. WORKS GREAT! And I netted an exact 2".

Yeah they're heavier but only weigh a couple pounds each, if that...
It's just the fun of doing it yourself- which many on this board do! When I was looking for the materials I almost broke down and got an REBB- but ORW didn't have it in stock and I'm one of those guys who doesn't want to pay and wait- I wanted to walk out with it in my greedy little hands! ![]()

Whatever the local shop has... I suck at welding and need more practice. I'm working on it but not real consistent yet. I can get a good bead going but then it stops...

If you really want quality you won't ask me to make 'em! Guys at work ragged on me 'cuz I too so freaking long to get them just right. Get so pipr form a welding shop (they probably have enough scrap laying around- I wasn't charged for it) and pick up the washers. A shop shouldn't charge you more than 30 bucks to weld all 4. Or if you know someone who can weld...
