Cool! Those things smell horrible though, I can still remember that smell when my dad used to run one when I was a kid.

Might want to put a sheet metal (like aluminum flashing) to keep the tires from getting too hot.

No issues with heat on the tires. Put the heater outlet in front of them.

Like that a lot. If I ever get around to building a real shop, I'll have to keep this in mind. In the 2 car garage, I just don't have the space, so I stuff it anywhere it'll fit for storage.

I have a 176k btu one, 0 heat except directly in front. After runnng for hours you can place your hand right on the side, barely warm at all.

I love that thing , best $65 i ever spent. Sub zero temps and ill be working in a tshirt 15-20 feet in front of it. I burn diesel, in my massive shop ive never noticed a smell.

Good to hear, I had an older one that wasn't built so well I guess, it would light cardboard on fire if it fell against it. Which can make for a fun time when you are mocking up with the cardboard under the jeep and notice the shop just got really warm and smokey... Good thing it was my buddies jeep in his shop, lol.
