i was wondering if it is possible to take a yj and change the headlights to the circle ones of the tj's, because i like how those look much more. and by possible i mean is there some sort of conversion kit or something simple, because i have no idea how to weld or do anything of that sort.

Search. I think it's as simple as swapping the grille, but don't quote me on that.

You could buy a TJ and swap in leaf springs.

Something simple, you can count on JeeperDon to have
quite the solution like buying a TJ and swapping in leafs.
I have seen two different YJ's, one had a CJ grille and one
had a TJ grill. I dont think either bolts right up but could probably
be made to fit with little modification.

Yup, mark me down as one who thinks headlight shape changing is up there with spinners on Hondas.

except thats not the same at all, but alright. how is that any different than say getting new fender flares or something like that? no, no its not. i simply like the circle headlights better than the square ones, but i am looking at a cj.

It's all personal preference, so go for it if it floats your boat. The difference is though, there is no net gain in function. The rectangle lights light up the road now just fine, or can be swapped for brighter if you wish. Many Jeepers, including me, prefer to make Jeep mods that provide a mechanical or functional improvement, not just for the cosmetic effect. So yes, buying the same width replacement flares because you prefer the look of Bushwacker 'pocket style' over the OEM ones is the same as the round light swap. Seriously though, if you want to swap them, have at it, and I hope it comes out well for you.

I think there is a company called Omix-Ada that has a kit to replace the stock YJ Grille with a Grille that has round lights.
Not sure of price.

Unless something has changed recently, that grill was never released. The "wisdom of the internet" says that Jeep threatened Omix-Ada with a lawsuit, so O-A never sold the grill. I don't know if that story is true, but I have never seen one of them. I have seen pictures of them in old catalogs.

When I bought my YJ, I thought that I wanted to change to round headlights. After a few weeks of working on things that actually mattered, I marked the round headlights off the list. They kind of grow on you...

It would be the same as... let's say putting a cj tailgate on a yj. Doesn't do anything for the offroad funcationally of the Jeep. It does have alot to do with looks. I do believe that you have a Cj tailgate modded on your Yj?
Personally I like round lights, I got a hold of a TJ grille and bolted it in. IN fact it was a much easier mod then my Cj Tailgate.

Of course not the same you silly.
I 'had' to put a new tailgate on because my old one was rusting out really badly (true), and since I didn't use the spare on the gate any longer (true), a new YJ gate would have had all those holes to plug up to keep water out and keep rust out (hopefully true). The CJ gate will last longer (hopefully true too), so is justified. I wouldn't have done the CJ gate if the old YJ gate was fine. However, spending money to get yellow stickers for the raised 'Jeep' letters on the CJ gate is another story. I guess I am not totally bling free.
On the other end of the Jeep though. A few years ago I had a tree take out my YJ grill, hood, and one fender once (not pretty, long story, 'new rule': never winch to a dead tree) and I chose to replace with the same. It never crossed my mind to swap out the rectangles for round.

Sorry but Magum is right, the Kit never made it to release.
I asked them if there might be a prototype floating around and the answer was no.
Sorry about that man,
