Grade 8.8 bolts VS 8

Are property class 8.8 bolts stronger than grade 8?

No. Grade 8 bolts have a yield strength of 130,000 psi. Class 8.8 bolts have a yield strength of 92,000 psi.

There is also a Metric 12.9 which is even a little stronger. And then of course if you have a fine thread it will be slightly stronger than a course thread.

12.9 is only available in Socket head cap screws, i believe.. very strong other wise
