gas tank fab

Anybody made a gas tank for a stretched jeep to go back in the stock location?

I'm looking at making one to resemble the the Genright.

I realize that if I count my labor, I could buy one cheaper than I can make it, but I do enjoy tinkering...

I'm debating how to mount the pump and how I want to baffle the tank.

You making it from steel or aluminum? Guess you would need baffles going both directions. You'll want to keep the fuel around the pump intake whatever way you're tilted. Not sure about the pump mounting, I'm going to try to do something similiar to what my CJ has now.

I'm thinking 1/8" aluminum. We use to modify tanks for rear sumps on our mustangs. I think the baffling is a lot more crucial on a rear sump style than the factory style with a pick up tub. I remember going around corners with only a quarter tank, you'd suck air if it wasn't baffled correctly.
