to the OP, about fold down tire carrier that was also a cargo rack, I just happended to be looking through an onld off road magazine last night, and saw exactly what you are talking about. there was a small add for a company called "Classic Iron Designs", and they had pictures of several of their bumpers. the front ones had grill guards that folded down, and the rear ones had the tire carrier that folded down to be used as a cargo carrier.

HOWEVER, I've been trying to find other info about them, and it appears that the company is no longer in buisness.

I did a little more looking around, and managed to find one picture of one of their front bumpers with the grill guard folded down.

I was unable to find any pictures of the rear tire carrier though, sorry.

well here is my attempt at the rear stinger from jeeptubes.com ..
it was a pita to make the beefy corner brackets but well worth it imo..after i stretch the rear 6-8 inches i will decide if im keeping it on the back or mounting it in the bed,,time will tell..
as i got it in pristine shiny cond.

everything was made the old fashion american way,,sweat and arthritis and a siatic nerve on a bender lol.

bracket on the homemade 3/8ths thick angle i made.

corner brackets.

I know this is resurecting an old post but I really like the last design. Ever thought of adding jerry cans and a hi-lift to that mount?

This was my attempt at a "best of both worlds" tire carrier. The benefits of a swing down, while not loosing the advantage of the swing away.
