Fabricating a tire carrier

the design for it though calls for the spindle to be on the outside of the bumper, so going to weld it on. atoz is the spindle i am using.

did a quick search and didnt come up with anything, has anyone welded the spindle directly to the outside of the bumper? (sure they have, just cannot find a pic)

any help is appreciated.

I did it to mine and it held up fine, but then for some extra strength I also welded on some angle on each side.
