Eastwood Versa cut Plasma Cutter.

40 amp and the 60 amp versions

September 2012 I purchased the 40 amp as it said up to 3/8 and all I needed was up to 1/4 so I thought it would be fine for me. Well it did work fine no problems, however it really struggled to make a clean cut even on the 1/8 stuff and really didn't like the 1/4 so I image 3/8 would not be satisfactory.

On 1/8 and down it worked pretty good. I had about 10 hours of cut time on it and it performed well, within the range of 1/8 and under.

If the metal was dirty or painted it would not easily fire thru the paint it would act like the current was not completing the circuit.

FAST FORWARD 1.2 YEARS I need to cut thicker metal and since I thought this machine would cut 1/4 nicely, but does not, I figured i'd call Eastwood to see what they say.

I told them my issue, and told them I'd like to have the Versa Cut 60 amp, rated for up to 7/8 inch. To my surprise they said send back the Versa 40 and they will refund me in full, and allow me to purchase the Versa 60. I also had 2 unopened bags of consumables they also let me return for a full refund.

I received my Versa cut 60 today and played with some scrap metal. This thing is a beast in comparison. It rips thru paint rust whatever. It cuts 1/8 with 0 drowse it even cut 5/16 with 0 drowse although I only had a few small pieces of the thicker stuff.

You can find the Versa cut 60 for around 750$
20 ft lead
10 ft ground
Uses hypertherm consumables I believe so they are easy to find.

I'm not a professional welder just a weekend warrior and this unit works amazing for me.

They have a 3 year no questions asked warrantee and they are excellent with customer service.

I could not find a review of this 60 amp plasma cutter so I thought I would put this here and if you ever want to know something specific about it ask me or pm me.

I know this is not the BEST however it's great for me, and probably many other people to.

if you want to know anything specifically about the Versa cut's just ask me, I'll be happy to help if I can.

Talk about great customer service. Seems like it is a dying art these days.
Got any pics of the cuts?

looks good!
Oh and you should have him free hand a JEEP logo and incorporate it into a bumper or something.
