this is a link to another board where i posted my YJ DIY highline. didnt have any directions just had seen it before once on a TJ and liked it. i think it is actually a little easier on a YJ as not so much stuff secures to the inner fenders. but just get started, it's easy.

highline hood is where you raise fenders and trim the hood. this adds tire clearance so that additional lift isn't needed. Therefore keeping your cog (center of gravity) lower, which is always a good thing

Here are a couple of shots of my DIY highline. The first side took about 3 hours to complete and about half that for the other. I gained 3 1/4 inches.

Edit: just noticed this was a TJ thread.

im a real fan of doing these types of things before lifting to the moon. on the tj i wonder if there isn't a way to lessen the "puppy dog" look of it. just looks like its got bigger ears.

in the original article cutting the rear fenders out is fine but for those who have not done this yet, you will ultimately gain little by doing so. you will notice that you can cut very little out of the leading edge due to the body structure. you can cut all you want out of the rear but the tire will no longer fit in the new wheel well opening in the center. to take full advantage of this you will need to slide the rear back to recenter the tire in its new opening. as much as i have cut, the leading edge still got mangled.
