messing with the dash stuff, going with a gate shifter and a carbon fiber dash assembly, a rough mock-up, although the shifter will be more towards the center of the seats and the gps will be where the gauges are now, still in the design stages:

got the x-member done, bypassed the stock mounts and made my own further inboard:

got the motor in and starting to hook it back up:

our awesome cardboard dash, our final actually won't look anything like this but figured we'd throw this together until the foam/carbon fiber/resin shows up to start with the real deal, the gps will go where the gauges are, the gauges will go above the windshield bars, and the shifter will go more between the seats, our switch panel will go somewhere in between:

trussed the 35-spline 9" more and got the brakes on:

mock up of hydro bump strikers:

gusseted and burned on:

got the harness all layed out and the fuse panel sorted out, waiting on foam for the dash, but should be running again very soon.

Umm, maybe im missing something but did you weld that diff closed? I see no way into it. If so I hope you got the right gears in there and gave them a good testing . OR Maybe I have just been grinding too long today?

It's a Ford 9". LOL Those come sealed and welded from the factory.

Hint, ya gotta look at the other side! Now, get back to grinding.

Good eye. He has a straight axle up front so I imagine the T/C comes out.

The trans is a 4wd and we are keeping the transfer case on for 2wd also, haven't looked into converting the output shaft of the 4wd aw4 but we may get a 2wd aw4 if we decide to run 2wd for a few races in a row and decide the xfer case is detrimental, here is the D30:

HAHA, ok. Makes more sense now. I didn't think someone would weld up an axle but I have never seen a 9" in person before.

thanks
got some more tube work done, just have to cut the flanges to make it removable, trim the hood a tiny bit in the front, and weld it all up...then on to the next check on the huge list.
