Custom Tube Fenders Using Stock Flares..

I was thinking of just cutting at the edge of the flat part of the stock fender. (so it is only flat) Then getting a tube bent to the shape. Then welding the tube to the stock flare... Has anyone done this before? seems too easy..

How are you going to weld the tube to a plastic flare?

Sorry, but i meant the metal part. The plastic flares will be off. Plan is to weld the tubes to the metal kind of where the plastic flares would attach

I would personally find a thicker area to weld the tube fenders to. Where your thinking of is pretty thin and wouldnt really do well if you were to smack against a tree or another object

I've been trying to find other attempts at this for the last week or so as well. It seem like the most logical way to me. Remove the edges, cut a nice radius, match the curve with a bender and weld it in. Why not?

thats exactly what im thinking. I mean might as well go for it considering it will be pretty cheap. i would think under $50. For me it would just be the cost of the tubes since i know a guy with a tube bender and a welder.

Anyone know where to get the tube?

I didn't weld tubes to mine, but I did hack my fenders up.
