Custom Hi-steer Dana 44

Heres an upgrade I started yesterday. Beefing up the crappy steering to 1.5" tubing.

How is that Hi-steer and how is that any better than just going over the knuckle with the same steering setup?

looks like d30 outers to me, is that a rubi 44 or am I missing something? Fab work looks nice even though I don't quite understand what you are shooting for.

Its a Rubi Dana 44, maybe I should of labeled the post "steering upgrade". I replaced everything with 1.5" dom tubing, 1/4" wall, due to the 37" tires and the crappy bent up stock tie rod.

and to help you clarify why you made the plated to move the loacation outward.when swapping to a cross over steering of this type the tierod bar will come in contact with the diff cover when at full lock.by making the plates and moving the tie rod outward it moves it away from the diff cover allowing full steering again.
