curious - what are the external dimensions on the M416's frame. 4x6? 4x7? or...? how far is the tongue triangle's intersection from the first horizontal crossmember?

The original configuration, the tub is about 4x6. Overall length with the pintle is 107.5 inches. Id have to measure my length from the first cross member as it has been a while.

cookeab Nice job on the trailer. I have one in my driveway that I've been trying to sell for $300. If no takers by Saturday, I think I'll do an overhaul and you gave me some great ideas. The M-416 is a tremendous little trailer that probably cost the Gov't about $10K each back in 1966. The chassis with springs, shocks and parking brake is very well constructed and is incredibly durable.

Post it up on G503, ih8mud, earlycj5 or expeditionportal, and im sure youll have a buyer real soon. It must be in pretty bad shape for only 300. If its decent, I would ask a little more. Actually, if it were me, id keep it. I still have whats left of the old tub and axle, so anyone out there from the Florida area, ill part with them real cheap if you come pick them up.
