Cold roll vs. Hot roll steel

I'm wanting to buy some steel to fab up some rocker guards. What's the difference between two to types of roll and which do you all suggest I use?

CRS has a more refined grain structure than hot rolled or HREW. HREW is fine for rock rails, just make sure your seams point up away from the impact, or forward in the direction that the pressure will be coming from.
